This is all about wine and food; women and loving them; song and music; and craps. But most of all, this is all about PASSION.
To me, life is for enjoyment, betterment and fulfillment.
I figure, the more improvements that you can make to your life; then the more that you’ll be able to enjoy it. The better it gets, the more fulfilled you will feel. No one has proven me wrong yet, and so far I’ve had a great time proving myself right. The one unexpected side-benefit that comes with it; is that I no longer feel compelled to prove myself to others.
I think that most people who know me, would say that I have a certain zest for life. I generally arrange things so that I get maximum enjoyment, and minimum hassle out of everything that I do.
I try to spend as much time with good and positive people, while minimizing the time that I spend with negative people. I’ve long held that it is difficult to fly like an eagle if you spend most of your time hanging around a bunch of turkeys.
So why the wine, women and song thing?
Well, I see it as part of living “la dolce vita” or the “good life”. That’s where passion comes in. I love food and wine. I love women. I love music. I love cars…and I love craps. I have a huge passion for all of them, although not necessarily in that order.
Now, remember that this does relate to craps, and I want to show you how.
Whether I am in Vegasville or at home, I love food. That doesn’t mean that I am a glutton. Far from it, I eat in moderation, and I eat healthily. The actual passion is found in the enjoyment of eating. I’ve also become fairly accomplished in the kitchen. There is a certain level of satisfaction that comes from creating something, and then getting even greater satisfaction from eating it. I’m sure that psychologists would have a field-day explaining that one, but for me it’s a rather simple explanation. I eat not merely to survive, but as a celebration of living. When I cook for my family and friends, it is part of sharing myself and my passion with them. When eating is elevated from mere survival to out-and-out thriving, it can take on passion. Yes, wine and other spirits are included in that category, but they are always consumed within moderation, and NEVER when I am playing in a casino.

If you’ve read between the lines of some of my articles, you know that I love women. Yes, they are fascinating creatures, and I have a high-hunger and a high passion for them. I have been very fortunate in my life to have been involved with some incredible women whom I am proud to still count amongst my best-friends. I treat those women with a high level of respect, dignity, humor…and yes, passion.
I also love music and cars. My passion for both, started at a very young age. It was a ’55 two-tone blue Buick Roadmaster that first sparked that passion, and it has continued on to this very day. I am in the good position of being able to afford vehicles that I could only dream of when I was younger. While my health is intact, I take full advantage of my skills and the abilities of my cars. I guess I treat my cars like I treat women. I pamper them and take great care of them; but I also know when a major overhaul is required. Some are for showing, while others are for G O I N G ! Some require a firm hand, while other yield to a gentler touch. You have to have passion about this automotive hobby, this interest, or this affliction. However you want to label it, it certainly takes passion!
That brings us to the subject of craps. To excel at this pursuit, you have to approach it with determination, strength-of-mind, willpower and perseverance. To continually seek improvement, it takes a high level of commitment, resolve, intensity and perhaps fanaticism. To put in all that time, all that money, all that practice, all that study, and all of that tenacity…well, it takes passion.
I want you to take a look at all of those things. Take a look at your determination, strength-of-mind, willpower and perseverance in getting to be successful. Take a look at the level of perseverance, resolve, intensity and commitment that you have for improving your skill at this game. Then, I want you to kick all of those things up a notch or two.
If your game is falling a little short in the “success” category; then it could be that you have to ratchet-up your PASSION.
