Topic: I can’t seem to get it together!

Author: lg A few weeks ago I started a post about how I had my first 50+ roll hand. Since then, I’ve have had six sessions. On one session I broke even; the next showed a whopping profit of five bucks. I hit my loss limit on the next two sessions and quit. I had two sessions today, showing a $20 profit on one and hitting my loss limit on the last. I just can’t seem to get past 5 rolls. My confidence (as well as my bankroll) is quickly diminishing. Nothing I try seems to help remedy the situation, although, I have contemplated shooting from the darkside but I am reluctant to do so. I know we all have and will hit walls from time to time, and I am sure it will turn around eventualy. I would have liked to have some good news to share with everyone, but that can’t always be the case. Better luck to all!! |

Author: Mad Professor LG, In this pursuit of Precision-Shooting, we ALL have to endure periods of low-performance. Everything is sunshine and roses when things are going well, but your true-self is exposed when things go awry. That is when we see our true character. It happens to EVERYONE, without exception. It’s how we handle those difficult periods which determine how well we will emerge from that slump. Instead of giving you a LONG list of reasons to be encouraged, I would kindly suggest that you read the following articles that specifically address your problem: -Master of All…Well, SLAVE to Some. -How Much Commitment are YOU Willing to Spend. -Winning with Character. -Potholes on the Road to Success. and my upcoming article: -When Opportunity Knocks. I know that this sounds like some high-school reading assignment, but if you are REALLY commited to improving, then you should invest the additional time into your efforts. Good Luck & Good Skill at the Tables. MP |

Author: dosndonts Slogan: PAY THAT MAN LAYING DOWN THERE Play from the darkside and if you must shoot shoot from the right side but I would forego shooting for awhile when you realize you cant base your progress on the odd freak monster roll and your bankroll starts to grow however slowly and then you know the normal condition of the table is choppy:running to cold to downright frigid >bad shooters are consistent good shooters are not GOOD LUCK |

Author: RollDaBones Slogan: Just gimme the damn dice. I went through this scenario during my practice sessions…What I found in playing in the real world is play at odd times when the tables are less crowded. This has effectively let me find my groove. What I also did was when the other random shooters had the dice, I’d either choose not to play or wait until they hit a point before puting any money on the table. I used this money management technic and ended further ahead. Also, make your largest bet the first one. I’ll play something like $80+ inside and hit and make it a double regression (meaning, I’ll go right down to the table minimum) take another hit or two, then start to press back up. then even if you have a short roll, your in fat city. |

Author: lg Mad Professor, I have already read every one of your articles. Some several times more than others. And I have re-read the the articles you suggested. Every time I do have some kind of concern at the tables I always refer to the entire site as well as your articles for more insight or just little guidance. I do appreciate ypu pointing me in that direction though. dosndonts, I’m not sure what it is you are suggesting to me about the table conditions or whatever. Your post is kinda confusing. Anyways, I’m not basing my progess on the one and only moster roll I had three weeks ago. Before that hand, I was already averaging 10-15 rolls per hand for five straight sessions. To me, that was quite a significant sign of progress, not just luck. |

Author: Rubacava LG, Look at this in terms of the sports analogy. We have all seen pitchers who have slumps. For some, the slump lasts all season. For others, they sit out a game maybe two, then back in the groove. For a few, they take a walk around the mound, they are back in form and then pitching like nothing can stop them. One thing for sure they all have to do, is go back to basics. In the dice world, that is to go back to the stance, set, grip, body motion, wrist action, aim point and follow through. Take a look see on the practice table, are the dice rotating and how? Are they ending up close to the wall, bouncing too high? Use two different colored dice, see if they are crossing (they shouldn’t!) Which one is going off axis or which one is rolling too far from the wall. Make adjustments accordingly. If you can say something like my arc height is ok, the dice are not crossing but they are ending up too far from the wall, then you can adjust that, for example, by throwing off the deck and slowing down your elbow to wrist motion and putting more of your body into it. Yeah? Rubacava |

Author: heavy Slogan: Donations Accepted Rolldabones is absolutely correct. Look for a heads up game – where the table is just opening or the cold streak has chased everyone else away. Just make minimum bets – single odds, play low limit place bets e.g. the six and eight for $6 each – a couple of hits and down – then thru the decision on your point. Mornings are a good time for this as most casinos aren’t that crowded then. I once had a streak of 13 – yep, that unlucky number – back-to-back loss limit ($350) sessions. THAT will scare the hell out of you. |

Author: Stu Slogan: Personal Power – the ability to take action. To Heavy: What percentage of your 13 consecutive losses came when you were shooting (70%?), versus random rollers (25%?), versus other precision shooters (5%)? How long ago was that streak? Just breifly, I believe you shoot the dice with a stacked grip, that you look for consistency in the rythym of the throws mechanic, as opposed to trying to keep the dice on an axis. Is that correct? Do you shoot with the stacked grip as described in Irish Setters Grip Section? Is that considered Precions Shooting as the Mad P. does or simply shooting with the same throwing consistency, and expecting similar results? Thanks. |
